Western Washington University students describe why they give blood during the regular blood drives on the WWU campus.

The fall quarter blood drive is going on through today on the WWU campus.

In the spotlight

Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE) will celebrate teaching, student learning and partnerships with business at its annual Teaching Scholarship Day on Friday, Oct. 23.

The day will begin at 7:30 a.m. at WWU’s Wade King Student Recreation Center with a breakfast recognizing WWU alumni and winners of the Distinguished Executive Recognition Awards: Steve Staves, former president of Duracell (Sigma Iota Epsilon Management Honorary); and Horst-Otto Gerberding (Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honorary), president and CEO of Dragoco GmbH, one of the top 10 fragrance and flavor companies in the world.

From noon until 1:15 p.m., also in the Wade King Student Recreation Center, CBE will host a luncheon for the Distinguished Teaching Fellow Award recipient, WWU Professor of Economics Yvonne Durham....
